Allyson Schultz

I'm a marketing professional who is passionate about branding, women's leadership and nature.  I work with mission-driven organizations committed to having a positive social and environmental impact.  

My childhood was spent exploring the woods and beaches of coastal Massachusetts. Perfect days included missions to build tree forts, cut new paths through the dense brush or construct "boats" out of beach styrofoam (yes...) and cross the harbor. These times were formative, as I'm still happiest exploring and problem-solving with others.   

Seeking adventure, at twenty-two I took a risk and moved to France, working first as an English as a Second Language (ESL) assistant teacher and then as an associate for digital PR firm v-Fluence, managing the online reputation of global Fortune 500 clients. Since returning to the States and moving to New York City, I've built a career in marketing, leading brand marketing, creative services and social media at nonprofit health insurance company EmblemHealth.    

A resourceful and energetic leader, I've developed a reputation for an ability to build, organize and motivate teams to accomplish a lot with a little—quickly. At EmblemHealth, I pushed the organization to modernize and initiated company-wide changes, each time expanding my area of responsibility.  I established a grassroots marketing approach that focused cross-departmental teams on meeting the specific needs of individual New York neighborhoods, built an industry-leading social media presence from the ground up, crafted internal policies to improve employee and customer satisfaction and created a nimble in-house creative agency to better serve client needs and reduce external fees.  As a result, I was instrumental in driving the brand and organization forward and supporting the well-being of our community.
